More About Me

     I'm Kevin, a father of 2 teenagers in my 40's. I am happy to say I can finally consider myself successful in having taken control of managing my own finances.  I am learning to balance my personal life with my work life and still enjoy all the wonderful moments that children can bring to life.         

     I have been an investor pretty much since I started my working career and making money.  Like perhaps most of you I learned early on that as we get older to retire that we can't rely on the government supplied resources as pensions and old age security just won't be enough.  I originally started by saving what I could and giving my money to a trusted mutual fund advisor, hoping that they would do better for me then I could achieve on my own.  I can say that this was good stepping stone and learning at a pace that was ready for me.  I started to read more and try less conventional methods to get ahead.  

     After about five years, I started to believe I could do better on my own by trading stocks.  I even learned how to buy stocks outside of a brokerage through a "Group Buy" method, and thought it was exciting to get a real certificate of the stock equivalent to the cash value of that stock to frame on my wall. 

     I later tried a dividend strategy that although it was great learning, it just wasn't what I thought it would be, and it just wasn't generating results fast enough for me.

     I read many financial books and sought out various trading programs, and after a few ups and down, I eventually made a trade that went bad and created a margin call in my brokerage account.   

     I realized that my intent to save fees and get ahead was working to my detriment, and finally I signed up for professional coaching through the tutelage of an amazing investor Phil Town and his "Rule1" training.  That event was a wake-up call and pushed me to complete his full training program.  Since then, I have been using my newfound knowledge to great success, and have also learned to apply those lessons to our Canadian financial landscape. I give credit to R1 for providing me with some great financial knowledge to take control of my own financial destiny. 

     Nevertheless, K2 is completely independent and not officially affiliated with Rule1.  All my successes are the result of my own hard work, and I am constantly working to build a stronger brand and develop my skills.
